Jordan: India Jordan relations gained fresh momentum after the Prime Minister thanked King Abdullah II for his hospitality and said both countries would work to elevate bilateral ties across key sectors.
The Prime Minister said the meeting would add speed and substance to India Jordan relations as the two countries marked 75 years of diplomatic engagement. He said the milestone would guide cooperation in the coming years with renewed purpose.
He said both sides agreed to expand cooperation in trade, fertilisers, digital technology, infrastructure and people-to-people ties. The Prime Minister added that the discussions would lead to practical outcomes in these priority areas.
He also noted that India Jordan relations extended beyond bilateral matters. He said both countries remained in close touch on global and regional developments, including the situation in Gaza. The Prime Minister expressed hope for lasting peace and stability in the region.
India Jordan relations and cooperation against terrorism
The Prime Minister said India and Jordan shared a clear and united stand against terrorism, extremism and radicalisation. He said Jordan, under King Abdullah’s leadership, had sent a strong message to the world against violent extremism.
He said the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in this sensitive area during restricted talks. Recalling past engagements, he referred to the King’s visit to India in 2018 for a conference on Islamic heritage.
The Prime Minister also recalled their first meeting in 2015 on the sidelines of the United Nations. That interaction focused on countering violent extremism. He said the King’s consistent emphasis on moderation was vital for regional and global peace.
He said India Jordan relations would continue to grow through steady and focused cooperation across all areas. The Prime Minister concluded by thanking King Abdullah and the people of Jordan for their warm hospitality.
