New Delhi: The Department of Pharmaceuticals will host India Pharma 2026 on April 13–14 in New Delhi, bringing policymakers and global industry leaders together to advance innovation in the sector.
The event is being organised in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance. It will take place at Federation House, FICCI. Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Minister of State Anupriya Patel will inaugurate the conference.
This ninth edition will focus on strengthening India’s pharmaceutical capabilities. It will also highlight research and development and resilient global supply chains. The theme, “Discover in India: Leapfrogging Life-Sciences Innovation,” reflects the country’s push to become a global innovation hub.
India continues to supply affordable and high-quality medicines worldwide. Therefore, the event aims to shift the sector from a volume-driven model to an innovation-led ecosystem. It will also promote international collaboration and sectoral growth.
India Pharma 2026 to drive life-sciences innovation dialogue
A wide range of policymakers and experts will attend the event. These include Manoj Joshi, Punya Salila Srivastava, and Vinod K. Paul. Experts such as Renu Swarup and Shivkumar Kalyanaraman will also participate in discussions.
Regulatory leaders will share insights during the sessions. These include Drug Controller General Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi and Joint Drugs Controller A. Visala. Gregory Smith from the US FDA will present global perspectives.
Industry leaders such as Dilip Shanghvi and Pankaj Patel will represent the sector. Executives from Cipla, Mankind Pharma, Eli Lilly India, and Abbott India will also join the discussions. Their participation will support collaboration across the ecosystem.
The two-day event will feature six plenary sessions. These sessions will address policy, regulation, financing, and emerging technologies. Topics will include artificial intelligence and innovation in contract research and manufacturing.
A dedicated start-up showcase will highlight new ideas and emerging companies. Organisers expect the platform to encourage partnerships and investment. It will also support India’s goal of strengthening its pharmaceutical ecosystem.
Through India Pharma 2026, the government aims to boost innovation and self-reliance. It is aligning efforts with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The event is expected to reinforce India’s position in the global life-sciences sector.
