New Delhi: IndiaAI unveiled an AI startups repository profiling more than 110 startups and non-profits using artificial intelligence for large-scale social and economic impact.
The platform released the document at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. IndiaAI developed it with Kalpa Impact. The AI startups repository covers healthcare, agriculture, education, climate, financial inclusion, urban mobility and public services.
The study maps India’s AI-for-impact ecosystem in a structured manner. It shows how founders design local solutions with global relevance. Moreover, the analysis notes that voice AI and vernacular tools now help reach underserved groups. It also points to rising investment in Made-in-India foundation models.
Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and CEO, IndiaAI Mission, said the publication gives stakeholders a clear view of initiatives aligned with public goals. He added that it helps policymakers identify integration-ready tools and enables investors to assess scalable ventures.
AI startups repository tracks scaling and exports
Mohammed Y. Safirulla K, IAS, IndiaAI Mission, said the AI startups repository captures a phase where startups move from pilots to scaled deployments serving millions. He stated that the IndiaAI Mission will continue to support this growth.
Anshul Singhal, General Manager (Startups), MeitY, said the document highlights solutions ranging from courtroom transcription to rural health screening and farm advisory. Meanwhile, Sushant Kumar, Founder and CEO, Kalpa Impact, said many growth-stage firms have expanded overseas. As a result, he noted, India is emerging as an AI export hub for other emerging economies.
