Khalid Saifullah asks Haj pilgrims to pray for harmony in India

Hyderabad: Hyderabad DCC President Syed Khalid Saifullah on Tuesday urged Haj pilgrims to pray for peace, unity and communal harmony in India during their pilgrimage to Makkah.

Addressing the gathering at Haj House, Khalid Saifullah congratulated the Hujjaj-e-Kiraam and said they were among the fortunate believers chosen to perform Haj.

Nearly 200 crore Muslims live across the world, he said. However, only 20 to 25 lakh people receive the opportunity to perform Haj every year. Therefore, he described the pilgrims as special guests of Allah.

During his speech, Khalid Saifullah referred to Islamic teachings and highlighted the spiritual importance of Haj. He said prayers at Masjid-e-Haram carried immense value for Muslims across the world.

He also cited a Hadith which states that a believer who performs Haj sincerely and avoids sin returns as pure as a newborn child.

Haj pilgrims asked to remember India in prayers

Khalid Saifullah appealed to Haj pilgrims to pray for India at important moments during the pilgrimage. He specifically mentioned prayers offered during the first sight of the Kaaba, while reciting Labbaik and during supplication at Arafat.

He urged the pilgrims to pray for love, unity and communal harmony in the country. In addition, he asked them to seek blessings for peace among all communities.

“Pray that love remains alive in our country and hatred gets defeated,” he said during the programme.

Furthermore, Khalid Saifullah alleged that some groups were attempting to divide communities through provocative speeches and actions for political benefit. He requested the pilgrims to pray that forces spreading hatred weaken while those promoting love gain strength.

The Hyderabad DCC president also appealed to the pilgrims to remember Telangana and its people in their prayers during the holy journey.
