Hyderabad: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of harming India US relations through his close friendship with Donald Trump.
Speaking in Kalaburagi on Sunday, Kharge said Modi should put India first instead of personal friendships.
Kharge questions Modi’s foreign policy choices
Kharge pointed to Modi’s past US visit where he publicly backed Trump, calling him a friend. He said such remarks embarrassed India and broke with decades of neutral diplomacy.
On domestic issues, Kharge criticized GST, saying the BJP imposed four slabs that hurt people. He alleged recent changes were made only because elections in Bihar are approaching.
