KTR attacked Congress over jobs pledge failure

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the Congress government of betraying Telangana’s unemployed youth by failing to fulfil its Congress jobs pledge of providing two lakh jobs.

KTR said the promise formed a core election guarantee and claimed the delay had pushed youth frustration to a critical level. He recalled that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi had stated the government should step down if it failed to generate two lakh jobs within its first year in office.

The BRS leader criticised the ongoing recruitment drive and said the government had issued only 65,000 appointment letters so far. He claimed these appointments related to posts processed during the tenure of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Congress jobs pledge remained unfulfilled, KTR alleged

KTR alleged that the government had not issued a single new recruitment notification after assuming power. He also claimed the administration had quietly shelved the job calendar promised to unemployed youth.

He warned that frustration extended beyond job seekers and now affected their families as well. According to him, families were openly condemning the government’s inaction on employment.

KTR further accused the Congress of indulging in recruitment-related irregularities. He claimed the previous BRS government had filled 1.65 lakh posts during its tenure.

The BRS leader also targeted the Congress government over pending welfare schemes. He said around 70 lakh farmers were still awaiting Rythu Bandhu payments. He added that women were yet to receive the ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance promised under the six guarantees.

KTR described the Congress manifesto, which carried more than 400 promises, as deceptive campaign gimmicks. He warned that Telangana’s youth were prepared to respond and said the BRS would continue exposing the government’s failures.
