KTR slams Youth Congress protest at AI Summit 2026

Hyderabad: The AI Summit 2026 protest in New Delhi has triggered a political row. BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao condemned the Youth Congress demonstration and termed it inappropriate.

He reacted on social media platform X. Rama Rao criticised the decision to stage a protest during an international technology event. He said the Youth Congress turned a global forum into a platform for political theatrics.

“It is absolutely deplorable that members of the Youth Congress chose the AI Impact Summit 2026 as a venue for petty political theatrics,” he wrote.

Rama Rao said dissent is natural in a democracy. However, he stressed that the timing and venue of protests matter. According to him, demonstrations at an international summit could damage India’s global image.

He argued that such actions project the country in a poor light. At the same time, he maintained that political differences must be expressed responsibly.

The former minister also referred to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He noted that the protest coincided with the Chief Minister’s address at the summit. Rama Rao described the situation as ironic.

“There is a time and place for political dissent, and an international summit is certainly not one of them,” he stated.

The AI Summit 2026 protest has sparked debate on social media. Political leaders continue to discuss whether global forums are appropriate venues for demonstrations. Youth Congress leaders have not yet issued a detailed response.
