Hyderabad: A major LPG diversion crackdown in Telangana led to the seizure of 3,699 domestic cylinders and 70 small cylinders, exposing large-scale misuse of subsidised gas.
Civil Supplies Department officials estimated the total value of the seized property at ₹1.10 crore. The operation uncovered a network involved in diverting domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes.
Authorities said the accused redirected subsidised cylinders to hotels, eateries and small businesses to reduce operational costs. As a result, such illegal practices disrupted supply meant for genuine household consumers and caused revenue losses.
