Mathura crash kills 13 on Delhi-Agra Expressway amid dense fog

Mathura: Mathura District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh on Tuesday confirmed that 13 people were killed in a Delhi-Agra Expressway accident after multiple vehicles collided due to dense fog.

Speaking to reporters, Singh described the incident as “very unfortunate.” He said the collision involved seven to eight small buses, one tempo traveller, and a few other vehicles. The crash occurred early in the morning when visibility remained extremely poor.

Initially, officials reported four deaths. However, the toll later rose to 13 after rescue teams completed evacuation and verification at the site. Emergency services shifted the injured to nearby hospitals without delay.

According to the district administration, doctors stabilised all injured persons. Singh assured that those hurt were now out of danger and continued to receive medical care following the Delhi-Agra Expressway accident.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath orders treatment after Mathura road crash

The District Magistrate said the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of those killed. He added that the Chief Minister also directed officials to ensure immediate and proper treatment for the injured.

“There were 7–8 small buses, one tempo traveller and small vehicles involved. Thirteen people have been killed in a very unfortunate way,” Singh said.

Meanwhile, police personnel regulated traffic on the affected stretch. Authorities also urged motorists to exercise caution during foggy conditions to prevent similar accidents.
