Hyderabad: A woman and her two‑year‑old son were found dead in an apparent double suicide in Medak district. This marks a distressing turn in the Medak suicide case.
Akhila, 25, had been living in Khajapur village of Chinna Shankarampet mandal with her son Shriyan Goud after the death of her husband Praveen Goud a year ago. Villagers said Praveen, a daily wage worker, died due to health complications. This unfortunate event left Akhila in deep emotional distress.
Although her in‑laws reportedly advised her to remarry, she refused. She continued to struggle with recurring memories of her late husband. Locals stated that she often appeared withdrawn and grief‑stricken in recent months.
Background of grief linked to Medak suicide case
Police said Akhila allegedly killed her son when the family was away from home and later took her own life. The incident came to light when relatives returned and found the two hanging inside the house.
