Nizamuddin Asserts Congress Edge in Jubilee Hills Bypoll

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin on Saturday asserted that the Congress party held a clear advantage in the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. He said citizens had grown weary of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) “propaganda politics” and were aligning with Congress nominee V. Naveen Yadav.

During an extensive door-to-door campaign in the Shaikpet division, Nizamuddin met local residents and workers as part of the outreach drive. He noted that the warm reception reflected people’s confidence in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration, which he said had “delivered tangible results, not slogans,” within its first 11 months.

“The Congress government has proven its sincerity through timely ration delivery and support for farmers, minorities, women, and unemployed youth,” he stated. “In contrast, the BRS ignored civic problems and basic amenities in Jubilee Hills during its decade-long rule.”

He accused BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) of misleading voters with “hollow promises” while campaigning for BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha. “KTR is covering up his failures with tall talk. People still recall the waterlogging and neglected slums that defined BRS governance,” he said.

Nizamuddin highlights contrast between Congress performance and BRS neglect

According to Nizamuddin, the Jubilee Hills bypoll symbolised a larger choice between credible delivery and empty rhetoric. “Congress stands for performance, while BRS stands for propaganda. This election will close the chapter of neglect that marked the BRS era,” he remarked.

He praised Revanth Reddy’s emphasis on social justice, citing inclusion of minority professionals in state institutions, new education initiatives, and the proposed hike in Muslim reservation from 4 to 10 per cent. “These are not symbolic gestures; they are genuine tools of empowerment,” he said.

He urged citizens to ignore misinformation being circulated on social media. “The BRS is spreading divisive content to divert attention from its failures. Complaints have already been filed with the Election Commission. Telangana voters will not be deceived again,” he warned.

Praising candidate Naveen Yadav, Nizamuddin described him as “a young, energetic leader rooted in the constituency.” He said growing support from youth, women, and minorities demonstrated an appetite for change.

Concluding, he said ground reports clearly indicated a Congress advantage. “We are not contesting for numbers alone but to defend people’s faith in accountable governance. Jubilee Hills will reaffirm that trust on November 11,” he said. Counting will be held November 14.
