Notorious bike thief nabbed, five bikes recovered

Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone, along with Borabanda Police, arrested a notorious bike thief and a bike receiver and recovered five stolen two-wheelers worth Rs. 2.50 lakh.

Police identified the main accused as Manjul Tushar, 23, a resident of Indira Nagar in Borabanda. They also arrested Mohd Waheed, 22, a resident of Chitalmet in Suleman Nagar, for receiving stolen bikes and arranging their disposal.

According to police, Manjul Tushar committed multiple thefts across Hyderabad and Cyberabad Commissionerate limits. The recovered vehicles included one Unicorn motorcycle and four scooters of different models. These vehicles were linked to cases registered at Madhura Nagar, SR Nagar, Madhapur, Kukatpally and Alwal police stations.

Bike thief admits to multiple theft cases

During interrogation, Manjul Tushar confessed to his involvement in several theft cases booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The cases were registered at Borabanda, Madhura Nagar, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Alwal and SR Nagar police stations.

Police said the accused first committed theft at his own residence. He stole gold ornaments belonging to his mother using available keys. He later sold the gold in Madhya Pradesh and spent the money. To meet further expenses, he began stealing bikes from different localities. He parked the stolen vehicles at the receiver’s residence.

On December 18, 2025, while patrolling in Borabanda limits, the Task Force team and Borabanda Police spotted and apprehended the accused. Police seized all five stolen two-wheelers during the operation.

Inspector G. Santosh Kumar of the South West Zone Task Force supervised the operation. Police officers and staff participated in the arrests and recovery.
