Hyderabad: Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna asked the Union government on Wednesday to release deployment schedules for major Peddapalli infrastructure projects during the Lok Sabha winter session. He warned that slow progress continued to affect jobs and connectivity across the region.
He raised the long-pending Peddapalli–Manuguru railway line. The 137-km corridor has been discussed for years, and a detailed project report worth ₹4,000 crore is already complete. Forest and land clearances recently moved forward, yet the Centre has not fixed an implementation date. The cost also increased from ₹3,600 crore after the project received special status in May 2024.
According to Vamsi, the rail link would ease freight movement and support coal transport. He said it would also help thousands of unemployed youth in Peddapalli and Bhadradri Kothagudem. Moreover, he noted that delays were slowing the wider industrial ecosystem.
He pointed to other sanctioned works. The ₹120 crore Kundanpalli Road Over Bridge has budget approval but lacks a deployment timeline. The ₹86 crore foot over bridge between Karnala and Manthini aims to improve pedestrian safety. Another ₹10 crore FOB from Mancherial to Hamaliwada would reduce repeated delays at busy railway crossings.
Semiconductor demand tied to Peddapalli infrastructure projects
The MP said pending Peddapalli infrastructure projects were worsening unemployment. He stressed that youth in mining and industrial pockets were losing opportunities due to slow execution.
He urged the Centre to set up a semiconductor facility in Peddapalli. He argued that the area has a strong industrial base, and its skilled workforce can support high-end manufacturing. Additionally, he noted that the proposal aligns with the India Semiconductor Mission, which targets reduced import dependency.
Vamsi added that timely deployment of infrastructure and new tech investments would reshape employment trends across the constituency.
