Praja Vani expansion planned to revenue divisions in Telangana

Hyderabad: A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare a roadmap for Praja Vani expansion to the revenue division level, aiming to strengthen grievance redressal across Telangana.

He issued these instructions during a review meeting held at the Legislative Council Hall. A delegation led by Nikhil Dey met the Chief Minister and discussed ways to improve public grievance systems.

Praja Vani expansion to improve accessibility

The Chief Minister emphasised that expanding the Praja Vani programme would make grievance redressal more accessible. Currently, the initiative operates at the state level. However, extending it to revenue divisions will bring services closer to citizens.

Therefore, he asked officials to take immediate steps to operationalise the expansion. Moreover, decentralising the system will help reduce delays and improve response time.

The delegation appreciated the government’s efforts so far. In particular, they highlighted the effectiveness of the existing Praja Vani programme in addressing public concerns.

Proposal for Praja Suchana Portal

During the meeting, officials also discussed the creation of a unified information platform. The proposed ‘Praja Suchana Portal’ will provide details of government schemes across departments.

This initiative draws inspiration from the Jan Suchna Portal implemented by the Rajasthan government. As a result, Telangana aims to replicate a similar model to enhance transparency.

The Chief Minister directed the IT department to design and develop the portal. Furthermore, he stressed that the system should offer easy access to scheme-related information for all citizens.

Strengthening governance and transparency

The meeting also covered broader governance initiatives. K. Ramakrishna Rao and other senior officials participated in the discussions.

Additionally, the delegation praised recent policy initiatives, including the Telangana Gig Workers Bill. They described it as a progressive step toward protecting workers’ rights.

The Chief Minister reiterated that Praja Vani expansion remains a priority. Consequently, the government aims to build a more responsive and transparent administration.

Overall, the expansion of Praja Vani, along with the proposed digital portal, will enhance governance. By improving accessibility and accountability, these initiatives are expected to ensure faster resolution of public grievances across Telangana.
