SCDPM 5.0 drives Swachhata and efficiency gains at Earth Sciences Ministry

New Delhi: The Ministry of Earth Sciences and its institutes recorded major gains under SCDPM 5.0. The campaign focused on cleanliness, space optimisation, scrap disposal and faster grievance redressal.

Between December 2025 and August 2026, the Ministry conducted 20 cleanliness drives across 10 offices and institutes. These efforts helped free 54,815 sq. ft. of office space for more productive use.

Meanwhile, scrap and waste disposal generated cumulative revenue of Rs. 1.57 crore for the exchequer. The campaign also streamlined official records through systematic file disposal.

A total of 750 physical files and 177 e-files were closed during the campaign. Together, these measures supported more efficient documentation and a wider shift towards digital records.

The Ministry also addressed public grievances and references received from dignitaries and other public authorities. It resolved one Parliamentary Assurance, along with 17 PMO references and 37 references from MPs.

In addition, officials addressed 304 Public Grievances during the campaign. All Inter-Ministerial Committee References, including Cabinet Proposals, were also resolved.

SCDPM 5.0 improves grievance response and records

The Ministry achieved a 100% resolution rate for Public Grievance Appeals. It also resolved all IMC References, strengthening its focus on timely administrative action.

Furthermore, the campaign combined cleanliness efforts with space management and record disposal. These measures helped improve the use of office resources across the Ministry and its institutes.

The Ministry said SCDPM 5.0 reinforced its commitment to administrative transparency and efficiency. It also focused on creating cleaner and greener workplaces.

At the same time, the campaign placed citizen-centric governance among its key objectives. Faster handling of grievances and official references formed part of these efforts.

Overall, the Ministry’s campaign activities covered cleanliness, space optimisation, waste disposal and documentation. They also supported quicker responses to public and institutional matters.
