Hyderabad: Congress leader and Telangana Government Advisor Shabbir Ali has alleged that the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) is splitting Muslim votes in Bihar to indirectly help the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
After campaigning for Congress candidate Md Qamar Ul Huda in Kharkhari village of Kishanganj, Shabbir Ali told reporters that MIM’s contest in Muslim-dominated areas is aimed at weakening secular parties. “MIM has become BJP’s B-team. Its main job is to cut into Congress votes and help communal forces,” he said.
Shabbir Ali says voters now recognise MIM’s divisive role in Bihar
He pointed out that the Congress has always worked for minority empowerment through inclusive representation. “Every vote split in these constituencies strengthens communal politics,” he warned.
Recalling previous elections, he noted MIM had won only four seats but damaged the Congress in over twenty constituencies. “People have understood their game. MIM will not save its deposits this time,” he asserted.
He urged voters in Kishanganj and similar regions to unite behind Congress nominees to protect secular values. Shabbir Ali asked workers to intensify door-to-door outreach and counter misinformation. “Our fight is not just against BJP but also those who help it by dividing secular votes,” he concluded.
