Hyderabad: SIR campaign emerged as a key organisational priority after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced a structured outreach programme for Congress workers and directed leaders to strengthen the party at the grassroots level across Telangana.
Addressing the Congress State Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Revanth Reddy said he would meet party workers once every 10 days. He also announced that he would reserve three days every month to interact directly with grassroots cadres and review organisational activities.
The Chief Minister asked district in-charge ministers to visit their respective districts every 10 days and spend a full day on party work. He also instructed ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs to dedicate one day each week to their constituencies and maintain regular contact with local workers.
Revanth Reddy said the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee leadership would coordinate the deployment of senior leaders for organisational programmes across the state. He stressed that strengthening the party structure remained essential for future political mobilisation.
The Chief Minister praised Congress workers who actively promoted the party on social media when it was in the opposition. However, he expressed concern that some elected representatives were giving more attention to personal publicity than to government achievements and party initiatives. He suggested specialised training programmes to help legislators improve their digital outreach and communication strategies.
SIR campaign to receive constituency-level monitoring
Revanth Reddy urged leaders to work collectively on the SIR campaign and ensure effective coordination at the booth level. He said constituency-wise meetings should take place across Greater Hyderabad and other parts of the state to create awareness and address concerns related to the electoral roll revision process.
He warned that communities such as Lambadas, tribal groups, migrant workers, Dalits, minorities and women could face difficulties if adequate information did not reach them. Therefore, he asked party leaders to remain vigilant and assist eligible voters whenever necessary.
The Chief Minister proposed assigning specific responsibilities to Rajya Sabha members and MLCs in Hyderabad to strengthen monitoring efforts. He also recommended involving experienced volunteers who had contributed to previous digital membership drives.
In addition, he called for the appointment of dedicated in-charges to supervise activities across all 119 Assembly constituencies and 17 Lok Sabha segments. According to party sources, Revanth Reddy also reviewed organisational progress in Greater Hyderabad and sought explanations for delays in appointing polling booth agents.
The meeting focused on expanding grassroots engagement, improving coordination among leaders and ensuring that party workers remained actively involved in voter outreach programmes in the months ahead.
