Telangana economic growth plan targets $1 trillion economy by 2034

Hyderabad: Industries Minister Vivek Venkatswamy said the Telangana economic growth plan aims to build a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047.

Speaking in the Assembly, he said the government adopted the “Telangana Rising” vision to accelerate development. He added that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is leading efforts to achieve these targets.

Venkatswamy noted that Telangana secured investment commitments worth ₹7 lakh crore during visits to Davos. He explained that the government prepared a strategy to channel these funds into industrial expansion and job creation.

He said 65 Industrial Training Institutes were upgraded into Advanced Technology Centres in partnership with the Tata Group. However, he alleged that the previous BRS government had neglected these institutions.

Telangana economic growth driven by skills and job initiatives

The minister said the Telangana economic growth strategy includes setting up 53 new Advanced Technology Centres. These centres will offer courses in artificial intelligence and drone technology.

Students enrolled in these centres will receive a monthly stipend of ₹2,000 from June 2. This move will support skill development and improve employability.

The government is also expanding overseas employment opportunities through TOMCOM. It allocated ₹90 crore for these programmes, including ₹30 crore for language training.

A team will visit Germany next month to explore job opportunities for youth. In addition, the government plans to introduce a law to protect gig workers in the unorganised sector.

He said the proposal aligns with assurances made during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Overall, he stated that the Telangana economic growth plan integrates investment, skills, and labour protection for long-term progress.
