Telangana employment push fills 67,763 jobs, expands skill programmes

Hyderabad: Telangana employment push filled 67,763 posts, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said while presenting the 2026-27 Budget in the Assembly on Friday.

He said the government streamlined recruitment processes to address unemployment. As a result, it strengthened institutions and improved hiring systems across departments.

The Telangana Public Service Commission was reorganised to restore transparency. Officials said these reforms improved credibility and ensured faster recruitment.

At the same time, the government focused on improving employability. It announced the Young India Skill University to provide industry-linked training for students.

Courses will be designed in collaboration with industry partners. Therefore, students are expected to gain practical and job-ready skills.

Polytechnic colleges and ITIs are being upgraded into Advanced Technology Centres. In addition, the government introduced scholarships to support trainees in skill programmes.

The budget also highlighted the CM Overseas Employment Programme. The initiative provides training, language support and placement assistance for jobs abroad.

Through the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited, thousands of youth secured overseas jobs. These placements cover sectors such as healthcare, hospitality and construction.

Meanwhile, the government introduced the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme with an allocation of Rs 6,000 crore. The scheme aims to support youth in starting businesses and becoming self-reliant.

Officials said the programme will promote entrepreneurship and create new livelihood opportunities. Moreover, labour welfare measures were strengthened through registration and skill training initiatives.

Digital platforms such as T-GATE are also being used for job matching and career guidance. As a result, technology is playing a key role in employment services.

The Finance Minister said the Telangana employment push focuses on jobs, skills and global exposure. He added that the government aims to build a future-ready workforce and reduce unemployment.
