In Papannapet mandal, the Manjeera river overflowed, submerging the Ellapur bridge and stopping traffic. Authorities blocked the route and urged people to wait until waters receded.
In Rajanna Sircilla, five cattle grazers found themselves cut off near the Upper Manair project. SDRF teams, working under the supervision of the Collector and SP, flew drones to deliver food packets before starting evacuation attempts. Families of the stranded men waited anxiously as officials coordinated the rescue.
Residents were urged not to risk crossing swollen canals or streams. Officials said teams would remain in place until rains eased.
