Hyderabad: Telangana government will organise Telangana tourism week from May 18 to May 24 under Theme-10 of the 99 Days Action Plan across the State. Multiple departments will conduct heritage, tourism, and cultural programmes during the week-long initiative.
The Department of Tourism, NITHM, Department of Heritage, Department of Language and Culture, and Department of Youth Advancement will coordinate the activities. The programme aims to strengthen tourism, preserve heritage sites, improve hospitality training, and increase youth participation.
The events will begin on May 18 with heritage walks in all districts. The Department of Tourism will also conduct a tourism activation drive at Raymond’s Tombs and release an action plan to revamp heritage tourism.
The Department of Heritage will celebrate International Museum Day at the State Museum in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the Department of Language and Culture will organise cultural performances at Ravindra Bharathi.
NITHM will conduct tourism and hospitality career guidance workshops with DEET at SIHM in Zaheerabad.
Telangana tourism week to include conclave and outreach drives
During the week, tourism officials will organise activation drives at Khajana Building and other tourist destinations. District Collectors and tourism officials will also meet tourism influencers and YouTubers in all districts to promote destinations through digital outreach.
The Department of Tourism will launch the Yuva Tourism Club activity plan across the State. The Department of Heritage will conduct conservation and cleanliness drives at Gunfoundry, Paigah Tombs, Pangal, and Centenary Heritage Museum.
Officials will also release brochures for museums in Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Warangal, Jogulamba Gadwal, and Hyderabad. The Department of Language and Culture will hold evening programmes at Ravindra Bharathi throughout the week.
The events will feature folk dances, classical performances, literary programmes, theatre shows, and devotional music presentations by amateur artists.
NITHM will also organise a two-day Faculty Development Programme on technological competency enhancement. In addition, the institute will host Tourism Conclave 2026 in Hyderabad under the theme “Destination Telangana: Strategies for the Next Frontier of Tourism”.
The programme will conclude with Swachhata drives at tourist destinations and heritage monuments across all districts. District Collectors will also release the Telangana Tourism Brand Kit.
