Hyderabad: Minister for Labour, Employment and Mines Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy cast his vote in Mancherial district and expressed confidence that the Congress would secure over 85 per cent of seats in the ongoing elections.
The Vivek Venkataswamy vote was polled at Booth No. 227 in Hitech City, Mancherial, on Wednesday. After casting his ballot, the Minister said voting remained a fundamental responsibility in a democracy. He urged citizens to participate actively in the electoral process.
Speaking to the media, he said authorities were conducting elections in a transparent and free atmosphere. He added that the present government ensured a people-centric administration. According to him, people were satisfied with the welfare schemes implemented by the Congress government.
He stated that the previous BRS government left the State burdened with debts. However, he claimed the current administration streamlined the financial situation and continued welfare programmes effectively. He also said there was no police pressure in the present electoral process.

The Minister alleged that the previous BRS government misused police machinery and took arbitrary actions during elections. He recalled that authorities undermined democracy in the past by intimidating voters and promoting unanimous elections without polling.
In contrast, he asserted that officials were now conducting elections democratically and without coercion. Therefore, he expressed confidence that the Congress enjoyed strong public support across the State.
Emphasising the importance of participation, he appealed to citizens to exercise their franchise. He said voting strengthened democracy and ensured accountable governance.
