Hyderabad: Labour, Employment and Mines & Geology Minister Dr. Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy on Monday said the ongoing dispute within the KCR family was an asset-sharing fight, not a political conflict.
Speaking during the Kyathanpalli civic campaign, the Minister alleged that the family quarrel centred on wealth accumulated by looting the state. He claimed the issue had nothing to do with ideology or public welfare.
As part of the campaign, Vivek Venkatswamy conducted door-to-door outreach in Wards 6, 7, 8 and 10 of Kyathanpalli Municipality. He explained Congress welfare schemes to residents and urged them to elect party candidates for ward development.
Addressing the public, the Minister said he interacted with citizens daily during his morning walks. He said he resolved problems immediately. In contrast, he alleged that former MLA Balka Suman never toured wards or engaged with residents.
Vivek accused Balka Suman of neglecting the Chennur constituency while claiming closeness to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He alleged that Suman spent most of his time at KCR’s residence. He further claimed that illegal land deals and sand mafia activities flourished during that period.
Kyathanpalli civic campaign highlights infrastructure and family feud claims
The Minister alleged that leaders promoted corruption instead of public works. He claimed that authorities undertook road and drainage projects only where commissions were involved. According to him, this approach damaged civic infrastructure.
Vivek Venkatswamy said he prioritised basic infrastructure during his tenure as MLA. He stated that officials sanctioned 3,500 Indiramma houses in the Chennur constituency. He criticised the previous BRS government for failing to allot even one Double Bedroom house to poor families.
Reacting to developments within the KCR family, the Minister named Kavitha, Harish Rao and K.T. Rama Rao. He said the dispute involved asset division among siblings. He alleged that demands were raised under the pretext of women’s quota.
The Minister said authorities executed development works worth ₹2.50 crore in Amaravadi village despite his defeat. He added that the Visakha Trust continued service programmes. He said the Kaka family remained committed to public service.
Vivek Venkatswamy assured residents that officials would distribute pensions to eligible beneficiaries from next month. He urged voters to elect Congress candidates with a strong majority for Kyathanpalli’s development. Senior Congress leaders, party workers and residents attended the programme.
