Hyderabad: Telangana Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vaasam Venkateshwar Reddy flagged slow progress in the voter mapping process in Malakpet constituency during a review meeting on Thursday.
The meeting took place at Singireddy Srinivas Reddy Community Hall. Electoral Registration Officer M. Manga Tayaru, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, supervisors and Booth Level Officers attended. Officials reviewed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise in detail.
Venkateshwar Reddy said urban constituencies were lagging behind in linking eligible voters from the 2025 rolls with the 2002 voter list. Therefore, he directed officials to accelerate the exercise and ensure timely completion.
He instructed Booth Level Officers to conduct door-to-door visits and collect accurate voter details. Meanwhile, he asked officials to take support from Booth Level Agents of various political parties to improve coordination and coverage.
Malakpet voter mapping process reaches only 29.17 per cent
The Additional CEO noted that progress in Malakpet stood at just 29.17 per cent. Hence, he directed Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to complete the work within one week.
He also appealed to voters to cooperate with field staff and provide necessary information. In addition, officials emphasised the importance of accurate data for maintaining updated electoral rolls.
Senior officials, including the deputy commissioner, Saidabad tahsildar and municipal officers, attended the meeting. They reviewed field-level challenges and discussed measures to speed up the exercise.
