Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticised the previous BRS government over Sircilla’s development and raised several allegations at a public meeting in the town. He also targeted former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family.
Revanth Reddy said the previous government failed to develop Sircilla despite its importance as a major handloom centre. He said the town faced growing problems under the previous administration.
The Chief Minister praised Sircilla’s weavers for their skills and recalled recognition received by handloom workers for their craft. He also accused the previous rulers of neglecting the town for political interests.
Sircilla allegations focus on development and weavers
According to Revanth Reddy, workers faced hardship as loom activity declined and associations raised protests. He also criticised K. Chandrashekar Rao for choosing his son K.T. Rama Rao during the political contest in Sircilla.
The Chief Minister alleged that the Kalvakuntla family accumulated assets worth thousands of crores by using the Telangana movement as a political platform. He made the allegation while addressing the gathering in Sircilla.
Sircilla allegations include Gulf migration and Kaleshwaram
Revanth Reddy questioned why the previous BRS government did not stop migration to Gulf countries during its decade in office. He said workers who died in Gulf nations did not receive adequate government assistance to bring their bodies home.
The Chief Minister accused the KCR family of ignoring Gulf migrant workers during its time in power. He also recalled K. Chandrashekar Rao’s earlier electoral victory from Karimnagar and questioned what changes the region had seen afterward.
Revanth Reddy questioned KCR over alleged wealth of more than ₹1 lakh crore. He asked the former chief minister to explain which businesses had generated such wealth for his family.
The Chief Minister also alleged that KCR diverted ₹1 lakh crore through the Kaleshwaram project. He accused Santosh Rao of being involved in the alleged diversion and referred to quantities of sand and other materials.
Revanth Reddy further alleged that K.T. Rama Rao and Santosh Rao together misappropriated public money worth thousands of crores. He also questioned the circumstances surrounding the Dalits who, according to his allegation, had opposed the alleged corruption.
These allegations formed part of Revanth Reddy’s wider attack on the previous BRS administration during the Sircilla public meeting. His remarks focused on the town’s development, weavers’ concerns, Gulf migration and alleged financial irregularities.
The Revanth Reddy Sircilla speech also included allegations concerning the Kaleshwaram project and the previous BRS government. The claims were made by the Chief Minister while addressing the gathering in Sircilla.
