Hyderabad: The Telangana government has directed District Collectors to resolve pending applications for GO 59 land regularisation within one month. The order covers government land parcels of up to 500 square yards. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced the deadline on Friday.
At a review meeting with senior officials at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat, the Minister told authorities to verify original land records. He also asked them to check applicants’ eligibility and plot measurements before deciding cases. He stressed that officials must ensure justice for eligible applicants under the rules. He also warned against a recurrence of past irregularities.
Cases involving court proceedings or disputed properties will follow the relevant judicial orders. Therefore, officials must consider the legal status of each property before making decisions.
GO 59 land regularisation to follow record verification
Ponguleti said the government is implementing assurances made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the Legislative Assembly. These commitments aim to resolve long-pending land and registration issues.
Meanwhile, the government has constituted a high-level committee to speed up the resolution of disputes involving properties listed under Section 22-A. The panel will focus on the issues that have delayed property transactions and registrations.
The Minister also said the government has issued orders to facilitate the registration of houses, plots and flats approved by GHMC, HMDA, DTCP and municipal authorities. These registrations can proceed even when the properties appear on the Section 22-A list, subject to the applicable orders and rules.
Government takes up other pending land matters
In addition to GO 59 land regularisation, the government is addressing pending Urban Land Ceiling applications. It is also examining patta land cases involving incomplete conversion under the Non-Agricultural Lands Assessment (NALA) process.
Other long-pending regularisation matters also feature in the government’s efforts to resolve land-related grievances. The Minister directed officials to examine each application carefully and act in accordance with the rules.
Revenue Secretary D.S. Lokesh Kumar, Inspector General of Stamps and Registration Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and other senior officials attended the review meeting.
