KTR attacks BJP, Congress over Telangana’s interests

Hyderabad: BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) attacked the BJP and Congress over what he described as their failure to prioritise Telangana’s interests. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, he questioned leaders of both parties over their conduct during visits by national leaders and their response to state issues.

KTR alleged that Bandi Sanjay acted like a bodyguard during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Hyderabad. He urged Sanjay not to compromise the dignity of the people of Karimnagar. KTR also questioned BJP Telangana president Ramchander Rao for touching Amit Shah’s feet.

The BRS leader accused leaders from both national parties of failing to defend Telangana’s interests. He claimed they carried bags and footwear for their national leaders, while their parties continued to serve leadership based in Delhi and Gujarat.

KTR also questioned Amit Shah’s contribution to Telangana. He asked whether the Centre had sanctioned a metro rail project, a national project or an educational institution for the state. Meanwhile, he criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s frequent visits to Delhi, claiming the Chief Minister travelled to the national capital twice a week.

KTR called Revanth an “EMI Chief Minister” and accused him of placing political interests above Telangana’s needs. He also criticised the appointment of former forest minister Devarappan as a minister, questioning the Chief Minister’s leadership. In addition, he called Revanth a land broker over the proposed sale of government land.

KTR attacks government over Miyapur land dispute

On the Miyapur land dispute, KTR alleged that the previous Congress government had allowed encroachment. He claimed the BRS government had appointed a special officer to contest the case. According to KTR, the Supreme Court had recently ruled that the disputed land belonged to the government.

He alleged that Revanth had announced plans to sell the land immediately after the verdict. KTR warned industrialists against purchasing land covered by the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation Policy (HILTP). He claimed KCR would return to power within a year and cautioned buyers against relying on government assurances.

The BRS working president said his party would return to power and stop the alleged land deals. Instead of selling the 550 acres in Miyapur, he proposed using the land for public purposes.

Under his proposal, 200 acres would be allocated for housing for poor families. Another 100 acres would go to martyrs, while 100 acres would be earmarked for Telangana movement activists. He suggested using the remaining land for schools and colleges.
