Adilabad: District in-charge minister Jupally Krishna Rao ordered immediate evacuations and round-the-clock emergency operations after severe flooding submerged parts of Adilabad following heavy rainfall that began Friday across Telangana state.
The minister conducted a video conference with district officials on Saturday to coordinate the emergency response after overflowing streams and water tanks cut off access to multiple localities, trapping residents and halting transportation networks throughout the united Adilabad region.
Jupally directed officials to relocate residents immediately from flood-prone areas, particularly those living near the swollen Penganga River. “Ensure no one suffers due to inaction,” the minister instructed district authorities during the emergency meeting.
The flooding prompted comprehensive emergency measures as water levels continued rising. Officials received orders to maintain continuous operations across health and rural water supply departments while developing department-specific action plans to address current damage and prevent additional risks to affected communities.

District authorities received instructions to monitor reservoir inflows and outflows continuously across all water bodies in the flood-affected region. The minister emphasised the critical need for real-time tracking of water levels to prevent further complications from rising streams and tanks.
Jupally ordered engineers to repair canal and tank breaches without delay while beginning urgent road restoration work in flood-damaged areas. Additionally, officials received directives to conduct ground-level assessments of agricultural crop losses and prepare detailed reports on the extent of farming damage caused by the flooding.
The emergency response encompasses multiple government departments working together to address the immediate crisis while preparing long-term recovery plans for the affected communities in the Adilabad region.
