New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Indian space scientists and engineers for the successful LVM3-M6 launch, calling it a proud milestone in India’s space journey and a reflection of the country’s push towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the launch of LVM3-M6, which placed the BlueBird Block-2 spacecraft of the United States into its intended orbit, marked a significant stride for India’s space sector. He said the mission showcased India’s growing heavy-lift launch capability and reinforced its position in the global commercial launch market.
The Prime Minister noted that LVM3 had once again demonstrated reliable heavy-lift performance. Therefore, he said the mission strengthened the foundation for future programmes such as Gaganyaan. At the same time, it opened new opportunities for expanding commercial launch services and deepening global partnerships.
According to Modi, the achievement underlined India’s steady progress in space technology. Moreover, it highlighted the role of indigenous capability in achieving strategic and economic goals.

Elaborating further on the LVM3-M6 launch, the Prime Minister said the successful mission proved India’s readiness to handle complex and demanding space operations. He added that placing the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil into orbit was a landmark achievement.
The Prime Minister said such missions strengthened India’s credibility as a reliable launch service provider. Consequently, India’s role in the international space market continued to expand.
He also emphasised that the success reflected the dedication and expertise of Indian space scientists and engineers. Therefore, he extended congratulations to the entire team for their sustained efforts and commitment.
