Vivek Venkatswamy attends Christmas Eve services in Mancherial

Mancherial: Labour and Employment Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy attended Christmas Eve services at churches in Mandamarri and Ramakrishnapur in Mancherial district on Thursday.

During the evening, the Minister visited CSI, Zion and Pentecostal churches in the two mandals. At each location, he joined the clergy and worshippers during special prayers organised for the festival. On arrival, church members welcomed him and explained the programmes planned for the day. The Minister observed the rituals and spent time with families and elders attending the services.

As part of the celebrations, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy cut a Christmas cake at the church premises. He extended Christmas and New Year greetings to Christian brothers and sisters present there. According to him, festivals helped strengthen unity in society. Such occasions, he said, encouraged mutual respect among different communities.

Speaking to the gathering, the Minister said Christmas carried a message of peace and compassion. He also referred to the importance of universal brotherhood. Prayers were offered for the welfare of the people of the district. He further wished for the continued progress and prosperity of the state. Church representatives thanked him for taking time to attend the celebrations despite his official schedule.

Community leaders said the Minister’s presence sent a positive message. It reflected respect for religious diversity, they noted. Several organisers briefed him on welfare activities carried out by churches in the area. These initiatives included educational support and assistance for needy families.

Later in the evening, the Minister interacted with local residents outside the church premises. Children who participated in carol singing greeted him during the interaction. Youth volunteers involved in organising the programmes also shared their experiences with him.

Many residents described the interaction as warm and informal. According to participants, the visit added to the festive atmosphere in the area. The celebrations concluded peacefully in Mandamarri and Ramakrishnapur. Church members later continued with their scheduled Christmas programmes and prayers.
