New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications implemented DigiLocker integration under the SAMPANN pension system to allow DoT pensioners secure digital access to essential pension-related documents.
The integration marked a further step in strengthening SAMPANN as a unified online platform for pension administration. Officials said the system already enabled end-to-end processing, sanctioning and direct disbursement of pensions into beneficiaries’ bank accounts. With the latest update, pensioners no longer needed to depend on physical records or departmental offices for documentation.
Under the expanded SAMPANN pension system, pensioners could digitally access gratuity payment orders, pension certificates or electronic PPOs, pension commutation payment orders and Form 16 through DigiLocker. Consequently, retirees were able to retrieve verified documents at any time, reducing delays caused by manual handling or record loss.
The department noted that SAMPANN also provided facilities such as online grievance redressal, digital profile management and complete transaction histories. As a result, pensioners could track their cases and payments with greater clarity. Officials said these features improved transparency while reducing administrative burden.
DigiLocker access strengthens SAMPANN pension system framework
By linking DigiLocker with the SAMPANN pension system, the department ensured long-term digital preservation of official pension records. In addition, the integration enhanced document authenticity, as DigiLocker-hosted files remained tamper-proof and verifiable across government platforms.
Officials said the initiative aligned closely with the Centre’s broader digital governance objectives, which emphasised paperless service delivery and citizen convenience. The move also supported pensioners living outside major cities, as documents could be accessed remotely without repeated physical visits.
The department described SAMPANN with the phrase “सम्पन्न जीवन, निश्चिंत जीवन,” underscoring its goal of providing secure and worry-free pension management. Officials said the system continued to evolve as a central pillar of digital pension administration for telecom retirees.
