Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday urged voters to support Congress candidates in the upcoming Congress municipal elections, citing urban development initiatives under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Following the release of the municipal election notification, he said polling would be held on February 11. According to him, the Congress government was pursuing planned development to improve civic services and infrastructure in towns.
Across the state, several urban development programmes are underway. As a result, Prabhakar said basic amenities were improving and living standards were rising in municipal areas.
He further appealed to voters to bless the Congress party in the upcoming municipal polls. He said public support was essential to ensure continued and balanced development of all towns.
Welfare measures highlighted ahead of Congress municipal elections
Highlighting welfare initiatives, Prabhakar said the Congress government had introduced schemes to improve daily life. These included ration card distribution, Indiramma housing, fine rice supply, and 200 units of free electricity.
In addition, he pointed to free bus travel for women and interest-free loans for women. He also cited the distribution of Indiramma sarees as part of social welfare efforts.
According to the minister, stronger urban development depends on public backing for the Congress party. Therefore, he again appealed to voters to elect Congress candidates in the local body elections.
