TNGO seeks Grade 2 promotions in registration department

Hyderabad: TNGO State General Secretary Dr S M Hussaini (Mujeeb) met Rajeev Hanumanthu, IAS, Commissioner and Inspector General of Registration and Stamps, and submitted a formal representation seeking Grade 2 promotions across cadres.

During the meeting, Dr Hussaini highlighted long-pending service issues affecting staff in the registration wing. He stressed that senior employees were facing delays despite completing eligibility requirements. He said such delays were creating dissatisfaction among staff and impacting routine administrative efficiency.

The representation also urged the department to immediately fill all vacant posts. According to the union, several offices were functioning with limited staff strength. As a result, employees were forced to manage additional workloads, which slowed down public services.

In addition, the TNGO leadership requested the department to complete transfers of regular employees without further delay. They also sought clarity on the posting and movement of outsourcing staff. The union stated that pending transfers had caused personal and professional hardship to many employees.

Union leaders explained that timely promotions and transfers were essential to maintain morale in a service-oriented department. They pointed out that the registration department handled high public footfall every day. Therefore, adequate staffing was critical to ensure smooth functioning.

IG responds positively to Grade 2 promotions demand

Responding to the issues raised, Inspector General Rajeev Hanumanthu assured the delegation that the department would examine the representation carefully. He said the administration would take a positive approach while addressing promotion-related matters and staffing concerns.

The IG also indicated that steps were being taken to review existing vacancies. He added that transfer-related processes would be streamlined wherever possible, keeping administrative rules in mind.

Central association associate president Kasturi Venkat and Hyderabad city president Srikant attended the meeting. They supported the demands placed before the department and reiterated the need for time-bound decisions.

The union leaders expressed hope that the assurances would translate into concrete action. They said they would continue to engage with the department until pending employee issues were resolved.
