Hyderabad: G. Vivek Venkatswamy conducted a pre-budget review meeting with senior officials of the Labour & Employment and Mines and Geology departments at the Secretariat on Saturday.
During the pre-budget review meeting, the Minister examined current expenditure, ongoing schemes and existing budget allocations. He also assessed financial requirements for the upcoming financial year. Officials presented details on departmental spending patterns and pending liabilities.
The Minister directed officers to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the next financial year. He asked them to streamline existing schemes and strengthen implementation mechanisms. He stressed that efficient service delivery must remain the core objective.
Focusing on labour welfare and skill development, Vivek Venkatswamy instructed officials to prioritise schemes for workers. He called for quality training to youth through Advanced Technology Centres. He also sought stronger training of trainers in Industrial Training Institutes. In addition, he asked officials to improve healthcare services for Insured Persons under ESIC.
Pre-budget review meeting stresses ESIC funds and ATC outcomes
The Minister directed officials to closely follow up on central funds due to the State through ESIC. He asked them to submit a detailed note on budget needs and projected expenditure. He made it clear that no scheme or service for Insured Persons should suffer due to shortage of funds.
He instructed officials to inform him well in advance about financial gaps. He assured them that he would coordinate with the Finance Minister and the Chief Minister to ensure timely release of funds.
Reviewing employment generation, the Minister sought a detailed report on overseas placements facilitated through TOMCOM. He directed the department to ensure that overseas job opportunities are effectively realised.
He also ordered a performance assessment of Advanced Technology Centres. The review will cover budget utilisation, number of youth trained and placement statistics. He observed that clear outcomes would encourage corporate support from firms such as TATA.
Special Chief Secretary Dana Kishore, Director of Employment and Training Kanti Wesley, Director of Factories and other senior officials briefed the Minister on fiscal challenges and proposed initiatives. The pre-budget review meeting concluded with instructions to submit detailed reports before final budget preparations begin.
