He emphasised that trade should be fair, transparent, and mutually beneficial. Without naming the US, he pointed to tariffs that complicate transactions.

The emergency meeting was held to address the impact of US tariffs on emerging economies. Washington has levied duties of up to 50% on imports from India and Brazil.
The session was attended by China’s Xi Jinping, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and Brazil’s Lula da Silva.
