Bandi Sanjay counters Congress claims on Centre support

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday said the Centre has extended significant support to Telangana, countering Congress claims that the Union government ignored the state.

Bandi Sanjay counters the allegations by listing recent initiatives approved by the BJP-led NDA government for Telangana. He said the Centre recently announced ₹884 crore to support MSP procurement of crops from farmers.

The procurement covers 1.25 lakh metric tonnes of urad, sunflower and other crops produced in the state. According to the minister, the support will help farmers receive assured prices for their produce.

He also said the Union government approved 18,213 houses for Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The housing programme aims to expand affordable housing for urban families.

Bandi Sanjay counters the criticism through a message posted on social media platform X. He said the state continues to receive strong support under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Facts matter more than false propaganda,” the minister said while responding to allegations made by the Congress government.

The Union minister also highlighted major railway initiatives approved for Telangana. According to him, the Centre sanctioned two new Amrit Bharat Express trains.

The trains will run from Cherlapalli to Nagercoil and Kamakhya. He said these services will improve rail connectivity for passengers in the region.

Bandi Sanjay also mentioned cultural heritage initiatives during his response. Two historic temples in Mulugu district will receive national monument status.

The Archaeological Survey of India will protect and maintain these temples once the status is granted.

The minister further said the Centre approved ₹3,175 crore to widen National Highway 167 between Gudebellur and Mahabubnagar.

The highway expansion forms part of the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor. Officials said the project aims to strengthen road connectivity and support regional economic activity.

Bandi Sanjay said these initiatives demonstrate the Centre’s commitment to Telangana’s development.

He added that the projects cover agriculture support, housing, infrastructure and heritage conservation across the state.
