Rain alert issued for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Weather officials issued a rain alert for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, warning of rainfall across several districts over the next few days.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Department said Telangana will receive rains for six days. Showers are expected from Monday until March 21. As a result, daytime temperatures may drop in several districts.

According to officials, districts such as Nizamabad, Medak, Karimnagar, Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Adilabad are likely to receive rainfall during this period.

The rain alert indicates that the weather pattern will ease the prevailing heat across parts of Telangana. Moreover, cloudy conditions may persist in several regions.

Rain alert brings thunderstorms and lightning warnings

In Andhra Pradesh, the rain alert also includes thunderstorms and lightning in several districts. Weather officials said a trough combined with southwesterly winds is driving the activity.

Heavy rain with lightning is likely in Manyam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. Meanwhile, light to moderate rain may occur in Polavaram, Anakapalli, Alluri, East Godavari and West Godavari.

Showers are also expected in Sri Sathya Sai, Nandyal, Anantapur and Kurnool districts. In addition, scattered rain may reach NTR, Guntur, Eluru, Krishna, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam and Konaseema districts.

Officials advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms. They also urged people in vulnerable areas to watch for lightning and sudden downpours in the coming days.
