New Delhi: Telangana Minister for Labour and Mines Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy met AICC National President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday and enquired about his health.
“I called on the AICC President and enquired about his well-being. He is in good health,” the Minister said.
During the Kharge meeting, the AICC president sought details about remarks made against Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. Vivek Venkataswamy said Kharge specifically asked about the comments and also discussed the overall proceedings of the state Assembly.
The Minister said the discussion also covered recent political developments in Telangana. The two leaders reviewed the 22A land classification issue and the implementation of public welfare programmes in the state.
“We discussed the implementation of welfare programmes and the 22A land issue in detail,” Vivek Venkataswamy said.
Kharge meeting covers welfare and El Niño concerns
The Minister said Kharge also raised concerns about the El Niño phenomenon and its possible impact. He did not provide further details about the specific aspects of El Niño discussed during the meeting.
Vivek Venkataswamy said the talks covered several issues concerning Telangana, including the Assembly proceedings and recent political developments. The leaders also discussed welfare programme implementation and the 22A land classification issue.
The meeting followed developments in the Telangana Assembly that had drawn attention to remarks concerning Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. Kharge sought an account of those remarks from the Minister, according to Vivek Venkataswamy.
The Minister also briefed Kharge on the welfare programmes under discussion in the state. He said the 22A land issue formed another significant part of their conversation.
Vivek Venkataswamy said the AICC president’s concerns also extended to the possible impact of El Niño. The Minister did not give additional details on how the phenomenon could affect Telangana or which sectors the discussion covered.
The interaction brought together discussions on state political developments, Assembly proceedings, welfare programmes and land classification. Vivek Venkataswamy said Kharge also enquired about his well-being during the courtesy call.
