Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao questioned the Congress government over unfulfilled guarantees during a debate on the Governor’s address in the Telangana Assembly.
He said the government must honour the promises made to people during the elections. He also stressed that the Governor’s address and the President’s address in Parliament should maintain credibility.
KTR asked who should thank the government and for what achievements. According to him, farmers, widows, elderly citizens and unemployed youth had not received the benefits promised to them.
He also criticised delays in implementing the Congress party’s six guarantees. Moreover, he asked what happened to the assurance of granting legal backing to these guarantees in the first Cabinet meeting.
KTR raises concerns over unfulfilled guarantees and welfare delivery
KTR also questioned the fate of the first file signed by the Chief Minister after assuming office. He demanded clarity on the issue and called for a Special Investigation Team probe.
In addition, he alleged that the government reduced the value of public assets and failed to honour several commitments made to the public. He said guarantees have no meaning without proper implementation.
The BRS leader also asked about the delay in providing the promised ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women. He further questioned the status of the proposed job calendar for unemployed youth.
KTR also criticised poor food quality in gurukul institutions and pointed to gaps in welfare delivery. At the same time, he accused the government of negligence in implementing schemes.
Referring to the previous administration, he asked whether ration cards had been denied earlier. He also urged the Congress to stop repeated allegations and focus instead on governance and delivery of promises.
