New Delhi: Fuel supply India remains stable despite ongoing developments in West Asia, with the government taking proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential fuels. According to the government, all refineries are operating at high capacity and maintaining sufficient crude inventories. As a result, there is no shortage of petroleum products across the country.
Fuel supply remains steady despite panic buying
Retail fuel outlets are functioning normally across India. However, rumours in some regions triggered panic buying, leading to temporary crowding at petrol pumps.
Authorities have clarified that fuel supply India is adequate and urged citizens not to believe misinformation. Moreover, officials continue to monitor supply chains to prevent disruptions.
LPG supply and alternative fuel measures expanded
While LPG supply has been impacted due to geopolitical conditions, the government has taken corrective measures. Domestic LPG deliveries remain normal, and there are no reports of shortages at distributorships.
Additionally, authorities have increased allocation of commercial LPG to priority sectors such as restaurants, hotels and community kitchens. Over 37,000 small 5 kg cylinders were sold in a single day to support migrant workers.
To reduce pressure on LPG demand, the government is also promoting PNG connections and alternate fuels like kerosene and electric cooking solutions.
Strict action against hoarding and black marketing
The government has directed States and Union Territories to intensify action against hoarding and black marketing. Under the Essential Commodities Act, enforcement agencies have already conducted over 2,600 raids.
Furthermore, officials registered more than 680 FIRs and arrested nearly 195 individuals. These actions aim to maintain fair distribution and prevent artificial shortages.
States have also been asked to conduct daily press briefings, monitor misinformation and set up control rooms for public assistance.
Shipping and port operations remain normal
Despite global concerns, maritime operations across India remain unaffected. Port activities continue smoothly, and shipping movements are being closely tracked.
Authorities have confirmed that Indian seafarers in the region are safe. In addition, control rooms are functioning round the clock to handle queries and ensure coordination.
Flight operations improve amid crisis
Air travel has gradually improved, with around 4.5 lakh passengers returning to India since February 28. Special flights and alternative travel routes are helping stranded passengers return safely.
