According to Indian Railways, a total of 52,494 individuals were arrested between 2021 and 2025 under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, 1966. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) plays a key role in protecting railway property and preventing criminal activities. It actively registers cases related to theft, misappropriation, and sabotage attempts.

Railways have adopted modern technologies to improve monitoring. For instance, authorities are using drones and solar-powered CCTV cameras to track sensitive areas.
In addition, frequent patrols are conducted in vulnerable zones. Officials also remove loose materials near tracks to prevent misuse by miscreants.

Authorities regularly conduct State Level Security Committee meetings involving police, intelligence units, and railway officials. These meetings improve coordination and ensure quick response to threats.
