Hyderabad: The TOMCOM jobs initiative gained momentum after a review at Masab Tank, with the government planning to expand overseas employment opportunities.
Labour Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said countries like Germany and Japan have strong demand for nurses, with salaries reaching up to ₹2 lakh per month. Therefore, the state is preparing candidates to meet global job requirements.
TOMCOM jobs focus on overseas demand
The minister said a delegation would soon visit Germany to study job opportunities and hiring systems. Meanwhile, he noted that around 1,000 candidates were already trained for construction jobs in Israel, although the process is currently paused due to the conflict.
He added that the government would resume those opportunities once conditions improve. Moreover, officials are designing targeted training programmes to match international demand.
Training and infrastructure at Masab Tank
During the inspection, the minister reviewed the TGIIC building, which will house the TOMCOM office. He directed officials to develop infrastructure that supports end-to-end training for candidates seeking overseas jobs.
Additionally, the centre will provide guidance on foreign languages, culture and work environments. This approach aims to improve readiness and reduce challenges for first-time workers abroad.
Government support and funding
The minister said the state allocated ₹90 crore for TOMCOM under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. This funding will strengthen training capacity and expand placement opportunities.
He also highlighted a ₹2,000 scholarship for students in Advanced Technology Centres. As a result, more candidates can access skill development and overseas job pathways.
Expansion plans for global placements
Officials said the programme will identify interested candidates and prepare them for jobs in multiple countries. Furthermore, the Masab Tank centre will act as a hub for training and placement support.
The minister urged youth to register with TOMCOM to benefit from upcoming opportunities. Overall, the initiative aims to create a structured system for overseas employment and improve career prospects for job seekers.
