The zone reported a 3.12% increase compared to the previous financial year. Officials said steady growth in both freight and passenger segments supported the rise. As a result, the zone maintained consistent financial performance.

Freight operations remained the primary contributor to earnings. The segment generated ₹13,835.27 crore with a loading of 147.87 million tonnes. Meanwhile, passenger revenue rose to ₹6,235.37 crore. This marked a 9.11% increase over 2024–25.

South Central Railway revenue driven by diversified income streams

Officials said freight continued to anchor South Central Railway revenue growth. At the same time, passenger earnings increased due to higher traffic and service improvements.

Other coaching revenue added ₹515.18 crore to total earnings. This included parcel services, penalties from ticket checking, and coach bookings. Moreover, sundry income contributed ₹626.10 crore through catering, parking, and non-fare services.

These additional streams strengthened overall financial stability. Officials noted that non-fare revenue sources were playing an increasing role in total income.
