BRS alleges land grab over Koheda fruit market

Hyderabad: BRS leaders alleged that land meant for the Koheda fruit market was being targeted for vested interests by the state government.

Former ministers T. Harish Rao and Sabitha Indra Reddy made the allegations after visiting the site in Ranga Reddy district. They accused the Congress government led by A. Revanth Reddy of attempting to divert valuable land.

Sabitha Indra Reddy said the government was focusing on prime land instead of public issues. She added that the project was envisioned during the tenure of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to benefit farmers and local residents.

Furthermore, she alleged that some leaders were trying to encroach upon the land. Therefore, she urged people to unite and protect the project. She also said the BRS would support farmers and residents.

Koheda fruit market land diversion allegations raise concerns

MLA Sudheer Reddy said authorities had allotted around 170 acres for the project. He added that officials had sanctioned funds to develop the market to international standards.

However, he warned against any move to divert the land. According to him, such action would harm farmers and defeat the project’s purpose.

Meanwhile, former MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy alleged a real estate conspiracy involving ruling party leaders. He claimed the land could be repurposed for other interests.

BRS leaders said they would intensify protests if authorities altered the original plan. Moreover, they stressed that the Koheda fruit market must proceed as intended.
