Hyderabad: Damodar Raja Narasimha on Thursday announced a major expansion of Telangana trauma centres along national and state highways to strengthen emergency healthcare services.
Under this initiative, the government will set up 109 trauma care facilities. The plan aims to reduce fatalities from road accidents. It also focuses on faster response and better access to critical care.
Telangana trauma centres plan focuses on rapid response
The Telangana trauma centres strategy prioritises quick emergency action during the “golden hour.” As a result, response teams will reach accident sites within ten minutes.
To support this goal, the government is increasing 108 ambulance services. In addition, officials are improving coordination between field teams and hospitals.
The minister made the announcement after laying the foundation stone for a 100-bed critical care block in Kondapur with Arikapudi Gandhi. The government allocated ₹41 crore for the project. It will boost advanced care capacity in the region.
Expansion of critical care infrastructure
The government is building 31 Critical Care Blocks across the state. Already, officials have opened units in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Karimnagar and Adilabad.
Meanwhile, authorities are constructing more facilities. They expect to complete all units by the end of the year. These centres will offer specialised treatment and stabilisation support.
Furthermore, the plan links highway emergency care with hospital services. Therefore, doctors can treat patients faster and improve survival rates.
Focus on rising healthcare demand
The minister also highlighted growing health concerns in urban areas. In particular, sedentary lifestyles in IT corridors are increasing health risks.
He noted that the Kondapur facility will address rising demand. Moreover, the centre will include modern equipment and specialised services. This will improve access to advanced treatment for nearby residents.
Overall, the expansion of Telangana trauma centres shows the state’s focus on better healthcare infrastructure and emergency response.
