Telangana expands skill mobility pathways with Germany

Hyderabad: Telangana strengthened skill mobility initiatives after G. Vivek Venkatswamy held strategic talks with Indian Ambassador Ajit Gupte in Berlin to expand overseas employment opportunities.

The high-level delegation met at the Indian Embassy in Germany on Friday. The discussions focused on enhancing skill mobility pathways and leveraging the Indian diaspora in Europe’s largest economy. As a result, both sides explored ways to match skilled workers with global demand.

Skill mobility gains momentum with Germany collaboration

Officials noted that the Indian community in Germany has grown to over 3.11 lakh. Of these, nearly 1.16 lakh actively contribute to the economy. Therefore, the trend highlights rising demand for skilled Indian professionals across sectors.

Both sides also discussed the increasing requirement for blue-collar and skilled workers. Moreover, they emphasised pre-departure training to ensure candidates meet international standards and workplace expectations.

Telangana builds infrastructure for global workforce

Vivek Venkatswamy said Telangana has developed advanced training infrastructure to support skill mobility. In addition, the state has established modern laboratories and skill centres aligned with global industry needs.

The delegation outlined key initiatives such as the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company, which manages recruitment, training, and German language preparation. Furthermore, they highlighted the PM SETU programme, which aims to improve workforce mobility across sectors.

Training reforms to boost employability

Officials proposed a Master Trainer initiative to align Indian training systems with German industry requirements. Consequently, they said this step would strengthen workforce readiness and improve employability.

Senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary M. Dana Kishore, and embassy representatives attended the meeting. They reviewed strategies to expand employment avenues and enhance cooperation.

Wider opportunities across sectors

Ajit Gupte appreciated Telangana’s structured approach and assured support from the Embassy for labour mobility initiatives. Meanwhile, both sides agreed to deepen collaboration in the coming months.

Officials said the partnership would open opportunities in healthcare, engineering, and specialised trades. Ultimately, it would strengthen Telangana’s global workforce presence and support long-term economic growth.
