New Delhi: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh proposed an AI governance curriculum to position the Indian Institute of Public Administration as a hub for smart governance training.
He made the proposal while addressing the 72nd Founder’s Day of IIPA. He said the institute could lead efforts to build artificial intelligence skills among public sector officials.
Moreover, he suggested that IIPA coordinate with key institutions such as the Capacity Building Commission and the Department of Personnel and Training. He added that this collaboration would help design structured frameworks for AI-enabled governance.
The minister said IIPA’s academic strength made it suitable to lead capacity-building initiatives. He noted that its membership had expanded to around 11,000, including young civil servants.
AI governance curriculum backed by national initiatives
Dr. Jitendra Singh said the AI governance curriculum would align with broader digital initiatives. He highlighted the ₹10,370-crore India AI Mission as a key driver of transformation.
He also announced the rollout of the Saral AI portal under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation. The platform aims to simplify complex technologies for public use.
Further, he said Mission Karmayogi had registered over 1.45 crore officials on its platform. The programme offers digital learning content in 23 languages.
The minister added that AI adoption had improved public services. He cited the CPGRAMS platform, which recorded over 95% grievance disposal.
In addition, he called for collaboration with private sector and defence institutions. He said such partnerships would strengthen governance training and innovation.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said the AI governance curriculum would enhance transparency and efficiency. He added that technology-driven reforms would shape next-generation governance.
