Hyderabad: Minister Vivek Venkatswamy directed officials to focus on Germany opportunities for overseas placements, stressing skill development and language training to boost employment for Telangana youth.
He said successful overseas placements would encourage more educated youth to explore global job markets. Therefore, he asked officials to prioritise structured training programmes that prepare candidates for international roles.
During a review meeting of the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM), the minister emphasised capacity building. He called for “training the trainers” and urged immediate recruitment of qualified language instructors. In particular, he highlighted the need to strengthen German language training to improve placement success.
He noted that Germany offers significant opportunities for both skilled workers and graduates. As a result, he asked TOMCOM to actively facilitate placements and expand outreach efforts.

Germany opportunities require skill and cultural readiness
The minister also stressed the importance of cultural orientation for candidates. He said each country has distinct work practices and social norms. Therefore, training must include cultural awareness along with technical skills.
Officials briefed him on ongoing efforts to place semi-skilled workers in Gulf countries. Meanwhile, he instructed them to collect regular feedback from workers abroad and submit reports to improve support systems.
He further asked TOMCOM to develop target-based proposals for training and recruitment. In addition, he directed the agency to improve efficiency and set benchmarks for other states.
The minister reaffirmed that the Telangana government remains committed to expanding global employment opportunities. He said the state will continue to strengthen systems that help youth secure overseas jobs, especially through Germany opportunities.
