Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan alleged irregularities in TGSWREIS appointments, accusing the Telangana government of weakening administrative systems through frequent transfers and controversial postings.
He questioned the appointment of Joint Secretary K. Sharada as Secretary in full additional charge through G.O.Rt.No.107. He said the decision departed from established practice, as the post was usually held by IAS officers.
Sravan further alleged that TGSWREIS appointments had turned into a “musical chairs” system since December 2023. According to him, several officials were shifted within a short period, affecting administrative continuity.
He said that after the Congress government assumed office, multiple leadership changes took place. Alugu Varshini served for nearly a year, followed by Krishna Aditya. However, he claimed that the government replaced him before completion of tenure and reassigned the post again.
TGSWREIS appointments linked to tender allegations
Sravan linked TGSWREIS appointments to concerns over procurement processes. He alleged that after issues surfaced in bunker bed procurement, the government introduced a centralised system controlled by the Chief Minister’s Office.
He claimed that this move reduced the autonomy of the society. As a result, major tenders related to student supplies came under central control, raising questions about transparency.
In addition, Sravan alleged that authorities preferred officials who would clear files without detailed scrutiny. He claimed that such decisions could enable irregularities in awarding contracts.
Therefore, he demanded intervention by the State Vigilance Commission and the Anti-Corruption Bureau. He argued that any misuse of funds meant for welfare students would amount to a serious offence.
Sravan also warned that those involved in the tender process could face legal consequences if irregularities were proven. However, there was no immediate response from the government on the allegations.
