Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha criticised the National Testing Agency over the NEET cancellation issue. He said the agency failed to conduct the examination properly. He made the remarks in a statement on Tuesday.
The Minister said nearly 70,000 students from Telangana appeared for NEET this year. He added that more than 22 lakh students across the country took the examination. Consequently, students were waiting for results when the cancellation created uncertainty.
He said the NEET cancellation issue caused distress among candidates and their families. Moreover, he alleged that the NTA failed to learn from earlier incidents. He claimed the agency did not ensure secure examination conduct.
Raja Narasimha said such lapses placed the future of lakhs of students at risk. Therefore, he urged the Central government to respond quickly. He also demanded strict action against those responsible for the problem.
